I thought I had a cold or some virus. Went I went to the hospital, they took an X ray and found that my heart was enlarged. My stress hormones were also elevated – they found high levels of cortisol in my blood. I discovered that I was born with cardiomyopathy (a disease that involves the weakening and inflammation of the heart). The doctors installed a defibrillator, as a protection in case my heart stops beating, to shock it back to life.</p>
<p>This summer the defibrillator fired off. In the hospital, I got bad news. The doctors told me I needed a heart transplant because my heart had only a 5% ejection fraction (a healthy adult ejection fraction ranges from 50-65%). They also diagnosed me with Hepatitis C, and edema, which had resulted in the severe bloating of my body. They put me on 9 different types of medication that left me feeling dizzy, incoherent, off-balance, dehydrated and depressed.</p>
<p>When I got released from the hospital, a friend who worked at a health food store told me about <a href="http://www.proteinextremeeerngy.com" target="_blank">Protein Extreme Energy</a>™. <p>Another way of saying it is <em>Take Charge of your Life by Amping Up your Brain. </em>Yes, there’s a lot to be said about a distinction in nutrition that few people really talk about.</p>
<p>That distinction is based on recognizing the two main forms of energy that exist in our cells, all of them, and most notably the nervous system and brain.  There is the bio-chemical form of energy with which most people are familiar.  This is so because the mainstay of nutrition addresses different kinds of bio-chemical, bio-available nutrients in the form of vitamins and phyto-nutrients, the family of B’s, C, A, D, E, K and on.  These are, make no mistake, vitally important to health and moreso, optimal wellness.  The bio-chemistry of foods, herbs, nuts, seeds and roots are something human nutrition requires.</p>
<p>The other less discussed, but perhaps even more important form of energy, dare I suggest, is electrical.  It is based largely on the mineral composition of a food, plant or herb, or a specific, if not precise combination of different foods or nutrients.  It is the electrical energy which <em>charges </em>the cell and allows it to even digest, assimilate the nutrition found in the vitamins.  Without the charge, nothing.  With the charge with even few vitamins, you still have motive strength and power.</p>
<p>So to focus on what causes “electrical aliveness” is to focus on what causes vibrancy, and what we generally refer to as “energy”.  When we say someone is “energetic”, we are not typically saying “that person is well-nourished, look his cells are so happy”; we are saying that there is a “charge”, like an energy field or aura around that person.  That energy field, also referred to as a “bio-field”, that aura, is electrical in nature.</p>
<p>When we hop into our car, even if we have a full tank of gas, a crankcase topped off with oil and a powerful engine ready to rev up to high horsepower, it’s going nowhere without the electrical connection in the starter to the motor, which comes initially from the battery.  This is how the human body also works.  It needs that spark to get it going and to keep it going, sustained over time.</p>
<p>This electrical charge is what we also refer to generally as ‘life-force’.  When we eat foods or take natural, high-quality supplements, while we certainly ingest the bio-chemical nutrition and this feeds our cells, the cells capacity to assimilate as well as to eliminate waste is a function of the electrical charge of the cell.  Cellular metabolism is a function of the capacitance of the cell.</p>
<p>The higher the capacitance, the more efficient the transport of nutrients into the cell through the membrane (yes, think “brain” because it is—see the work of cellular biologist, Dr. Bruce Lipton) as well as oxygen and carbon dioxide transfer.  When the capacitance is over 1313 pico Farads for a male, he is extremely healthy.  Below 381 and he’s in the danger zone.  Extremely healthy women will be above 1009 or extremely unhealthy, below 303.  So health is very much measurable by electrical capacitance of a cell.</p>
<p>This charge we also absorb from food in a very interesting process of absorbing the plant’s life-force—that’s the main thing from food, from plants, that keeps us alive.  The quality of that life-force is what molds and shapes our own.  When we eat plants from the Amazon Rainforest, for instance, we are getting an “life-force imprint” that we wouldn’t get had we just eaten deadened or dare I think it, micro-waved food.</p>
<p>In my work in Energy Medicine, using the body scan/bio-feedback technology called the LIFE System, we are, in effect, measuring the capacitance of different areas, cellular colonies of the body.  It’s fascinating, and when we see imbalance, we can then “charge up” that area or system so it returns to homeostasis.</p>
<p>Someone recently said to me that if we are what we eat, let’s eat billionaires!  Laughing aside, the energy billionaires have, at least in the bank account, is another form of life-force.  This article is about absorbing electro-nutrition into our cells, a different kind of life-force, but the joke does show that what we do need for optimum health and wellness is to be aware of and make sure that we have ample electro-nutrition as a mainstay of our diet.</p>

<p><strong>2. Drink Enough Water</strong></p>
<p>Staying hydrated is key to activating Protein Extreme Energy and helping GSH-Ignite, Maxodin and Adrenal Re-Boot do their work. Water helps to flush out cellular toxins and metabolic waste from the body so that your cells don’t get overloaded and bogged down. Staying hydrated is also essential to keep your internal organs functioning properly. How much water a day should people drink? While there’s no scientific consensus, the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies recommends that men consume about 13 cups, or 3 liters; and women approximately 9 cups, or 2.2 liters, of fluids a day.</p>
<p><strong>3. Get Enough Sleep</strong></p>
<p>Think about it. Kids sleep a lot and heal a lot faster than we do. They don’t need caffeine to get them through the day – when they’re up they’re bouncing off the walls, and when they crash, they sleep so deeply it’s virtually impossible to rouse them. As we get older, we train ourselves to make do with less and less sleep, and often the sleep we do get is restless, unsatisfying. Sleep is fundamental to our well-being: we regenerate and rejuvenate our bodies when we sleep deeply, it helps us deal with stress and improves our mood and cognition. In the next few months we’ll be discussing sleep in more detail: tricks on how to get it and why it’s so vital to your health. For now, just try to get at least 8 hours a night, preferably closer to 9.</p>
<p><strong>4. Make a Supplement Plan &amp; Stick to it</strong></p>
<p>As much as possible, stick with your plan. A missed pill here and there won’t make a difference, but the more you stick with a schedule, the happier your body will be.</p>
<p><strong>For example, here’s my plan:</strong></p>
<p><strong> Morning</strong>: A scoop of <a href="http://proteinextremeenergy.com" target="_blank">Protein Extreme Energy</a> first thing on empty stomach, followed by a glass of water.</p>
<p><strong>Breakfast:</strong> 2 <a href="http://maxodin.com" target="_blank">Maxodin</a> with food</p>

<p>(this works for me every time)</p>

<p><strong>If I’m exercising, then I add in an extra serving of Protein Extreme Energy pre-workout and GSH-Restore (this is the vanilla version of GSH-Ignite) post-workout.</strong></p>
<p><strong>5. Breathe</strong></p>
<p>As the adage goes, breath is life. We’ve been doing it since we were born, so we should all be experts now, right? Wrong. Most of us don’t take full breaths, we keep them shallow and this causes a whole slew of health problems for us relating to low levels of blood oxygen (which we will elaborate on in future posts). You don’t need to be a yogi or devote hours to this. If you can get outside and go for a walk every day, great – do it and focus on your breathing. If not, just take a few minutes while you’re at work to concentrate on your breath and practice deep breathing. This is an especially effective thing to do when you’re under stress or feeling tired. It will help get more oxygen to your brain, center and calm you.  Plus, it just feels nice to breathe.</p>

Let’s look at why this is the case and what we can do about it:</p>
<p>Electrons play a vital role in our cells to neutralize free radicals. As our cells produce energy, they also produce free radicals. Eating unhealthy foods (such as fried foods), breathing polluted air, drinking toxic water, extreme exercise and stress can also generate free radicals. Free radicals are molecules, atoms, or ions missing electrons in their outer orbits. This makes them highly reactive, and if they aren’t neutralized by an electron donor substance like an anti-oxidant, then they can wreak havoc in our cells – damaging DNA, causing cellular mutations, breaking down cellular function and potentially leading to cancer. Our cells experience electron loss on an ongoing basis, so it’s just as vital to keep on replenishing those electrons.</p>
<p>To fix this problem, why not just eat electron-donor foods such as fruits and vegetables high in anti-oxidants, maybe take a few anti-oxidant supplements? Yes, diet can help, but generally, as we get older, nutritious meals fail to vitalize us in the same way they did when we were younger. The body can no longer utilize the nutrients as efficiently. <p>Understanding the oxidative system will provide us with the first method for increasing cellular energy. For cellular respiration to occur, oxygen must be drawn into the cells, where it’s used to produce energy (if you want to get specific, the mitochondria in our cells use it as a hydrogen acceptor during ATP production to produce water). How is oxygen drawn into the cell? Through the sodium potassium pump, which is what creates a cell’s ‘electrical charge’. The electrons around the outer membrane and inner nucleus of the cell, going in opposite directions, draw in the oxygen by means of diffusion.  So, a cell’s electrical charge controls the amount of oxygen that can be drawn in, and is in part responsible for how much energy your cells can produce.</p>
<p>This provides us with <strong>the first method of increasing cellular energy: increase a cell’s electrical charge</strong>. Note that electrical charge is also responsible for the removal of metabolic waste from the cell. If a cell’s charge is low, then metabolic waste accumulates and hinders cellular respiration. If things slow down enough, edema or water retention occurs – the cell’s osmotic pressure become so weak that it loses the ability to expel waste and old body fluids. When a cell’s charge is strengthened, metabolic wastes can be properly disposed of and cellular respiration increased.</p>
<p>The second method for increasing cellular energy can be understood through the reductive system. While oxygen is vital to cellular respiration, it also ‘oxidizes’ the cells, producing harmful free radicals that can damage cell function, respiration and DNA.  Reductive enzymes – with glutathione being the main SOD reductive enzyme – are what protect the cell from these free radicals. When a cell doesn’t have enough glutathione, it attempts to decrease ATP production so as to minimize the free radical damage. Therefore, <strong>increasing glutathione provides us with the second method to increase cellular energy.</strong> By increasing glutathione, you balance oxidation with reduction, and allow ATP to increase, thereby increasing your body’s cellular energy.</p>

<p>So, age alone does not determine health. Nevertheless, it is useful to ask what the difference is between a typical twenty year old and a seventy year old. How is it that one is full of energy and the other, for the most part, is experiencing degeneration of one form or another?</p>
